Danish post-punk band ICEAGE returns to Black Cat on Thursday, April 15, 2027, for a live show centered on their latest album, *For Love of Grace & the Hereafter*. The record is described as the band’s tightest album to date, even glossy at times, while still retaining a restless pulse. It features wordless howls, nastily detuned riffs that bend into harmony, breakdowns, handclaps, and a chaotic choral break that sounds like pennywhistles, all reflecting the band’s curiosity and trust in their instincts.

The album was produced and mixed by the band members — Rønnenfelt, Dan Kjær Nielsen, Jakob Tvilling Pless, Johan S. Weith, and Casper Morilla Fernandez — along with Nis Bysted. It was recorded at Silence Studio, a modest house in rural Sweden near the Norwegian border, the same studio where they recorded 2014’s *Plowing Into the Field of Love*. The band deliberately returned to capture that same intense energy. Recorded with a minimal setup, the sessions emphasized live decision-making, patient full takes, and minimal overdubs, with lyrics written only weeks before entering the studio to heighten risk and urgency. The resulting album is bright, energetic, fun, and serious, described as the sum of the band’s inspirations shared openly in the spirit of playing.
