The Wolves

Presented by the UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies, *The Wolves* brings Sarah DeLappe’s play to the Kogod Theatre in The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Set on an indoor soccer field, the play follows nine teenage girls on a high school indoor soccer team as they warm up before a match. Their overlapping conversations touch on jokes, teasing, gossip, fear, ambition, and the everyday pressures of chasing scholarships and navigating life off the field. The Washington Post is quoted praising the play’s unerringly accurate portrait of its fierce, funny, anxious, and passionate young players. Directed by Associate Professor Lisa Nathans, the production is described as a funny and heartbreaking look at a team under pressure, where winning and losing can either pull the players together or split them apart.
