The Washington Ballet launches its 50th anniversary season with the world premiere of *Dracula*, an original ballet adaptation of Bram Stoker’s gothic novel. Artistic Director Edwaard Liang choreographs this new work, which delves into the psychological depths and tragic transformations of the legendary vampire tale. The production is set to a sweeping original score by Oliver Peter Graber that builds toward the emotional climax of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5. Featuring lush, gothic set and costume designs and a dramatic moment of a bride in flight, the ballet promises a celebration of dance that explores desire, humanity, and the immortal nature of passion.
