She Kills Monsters
George Mason University’s School of Theater presents Qui Nguyen’s *She Kills Monsters*, a comedic and heartfelt play that blends grief, sisterhood, and fantasy role-playing. The story follows Agnes Evans as she returns to her childhood home in Ohio after the sudden death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes discovers Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she is pulled into the imaginary world her sister used as a refuge, embarking on an action-packed journey filled with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 1990s pop culture references. The play is presented as a high-octane dramatic comedy that pays tribute to the geek and warrior within everyone, and it is directed by Laura Wayth.
The production runs from April 1 through April 4, 2027, with multiple performances across the weekend. A preview performance takes place on March 31 at 7:30 p.m., and the April 2 evening performance includes a post-show talkback as well as ASL interpretation and audio description. Tickets are available at varying price levels for adults, students, staff, seniors, and groups, with a special preview price.
