Million Dollar Quartet is a jukebox musical that brings audiences back to December 4, 1956, when Sam Phillips gathered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be the only time the four legends ever played together. The show dramatizes that historic night, presenting the spontaneous collaboration and friendly competition that helped define rock ‘n’ roll. It is packed with era-defining hits including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “That’s Alright,” “Long Tall Sally,” “I Walk The Line,” and “Great Balls of Fire,” among many others. Olney Theatre Center’s summer production promises audiences a slice of rock ‘n’ roll heaven on its Roberts Mainstage.

The musical is written by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, with original concept and direction by Floyd Mutrux, and is inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. This production is directed by Hunter Foster with music direction by Sam C. Jones, and runs as part of the theatre’s 2026-27 season.
