Urinetown
Urinetown is a Tony Award-winning satirical musical comedy that returns to Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia. Set in a drought-stricken city where a corrupt corporation controls access to toilets, the show follows young Bobby Strong as he rebels against the oppressive system, sending the entire premise singing and dancing into chaos. With a sharp book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann, and direction and choreography by Katie Spelman, this production skewers capitalism, bureaucracy, and musical theater conventions with wit and energy. The New York Times described it as “a sensational piece of performance art… simply the most gripping and galvanizing theater experience in town.”
