We Had A World is a new play by Joshua Harmon, the acclaimed writer behind Studio Theatre’s earlier hits *Bad Jews* and *Admissions*. In this daringly personal work, a playwright named Joshua receives a call from his dying grandmother, who tasks him with writing about the family—and insists he make it “as bitter and vitriolic as possible.” Harmon turns his comic, sharp-tongued eye inward, exploring themes of mothers and daughters, legacy and addiction, fierce cruelty, and extraordinary love. The production is directed by Jess Chayes and plays in Studio’s Milton Theatre.
